1983

Birth of the fax and mobile phone

Comworth Systems was launched during the exciting days of fax machines and mobile phones, securing an agreement with OKI to distribute in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Comworth was instrumental in establishing the mobile phone market, working closely with Telecom NZ and establishing a network of stores across New Zealand.

The 90's

Keyphone's launched acquisition and expansion

Comworth enters the emerging keyphone market with OKI and quickly establishes a market leading position, supplying and servicing keyphone systems around the country. This national presence and strong reputation lead to the acquisition of Fisher and Paykel NZ Telecoms business and Agile NZ is formed.

Agile becomes a market leader in IP telephony with Avaya in NZ and develops a strong reputation in the SME and Corporate business segment, culminating in winning the contract to support the IAG call centre, the largest call centre installation at that time in New Zealand.

The NEW CENTURY

Diversification and growth across the Tasman

Comworth makes it's first foray into software, launching Agile Enterprise software which becomes a leading innovation for the enterprise telecommunications segment, being distributed by Avaya internationally.

Comworth acquires the technology distributor MEC and enters the rugged mobility market supplying Panasonic Toughbooks, securing number 1 market share.

Looking to innovate in the maturing print market, Comworth launches 3D printing from small businesses and the education sector, quickly gaining a leading market position.

Agile Australia is formed and branches across the Tasman as opportunity in the Australian call centre market opens up.

Early 2010's

The shift from hardware to software

Virsae is launched to focus on the next generation of services for IP telephony, large enterprises and call centres, establishing offices in the US, UK and Aust.

Comworth Technology, the distribution arm is divested as Comworth exits the hardware distribution business, ending a 25 year relationship with OKI.

Agile gets a face lift and is rebranded as Pyrios. Reflecting the shift from being technology led to focusing on customer experience and engagement.

Virsae operations expand in the US and Europe, with funding secured from US investors to facilitate the next stage of growth.
